The Maze:
It was night time and a lady was walking along a path in the darkness. This lady had in her hand a torch that guided every step she made. It was a lonely street and she was the only one on it.
She found herself in what looked like a maze. It seemed she was led to the maze with the help of the torch.
While in the maze, she was to keep walking on that path till she was able to find her way out of the maze. She was getting worked up and wanted to follow whatever path she pleased, but she was to keep walking on that path till she found a way out.
At a point, she left the path and went through the trimmed bushes. Then I heard, ‘No, you’ll only make matters worse. Stay on the path. Walk on the path; walk on the path. Stay on it.’
I had the impression that failure to stay on the path would lead to confusion.
James 3:16 came to mind: “For where envying and strife is, there is confusion and every evil work.”
I had the impression this was a phase in someone’s life, and in order to succeed in this phase, the person would have to trust and obey.
The Empty Vessels:
I saw empty vessels on the ground; some were upright while others were lying on the ground.
I saw an empty vessel filled with liquid but it never stayed filled; after a while, it would become empty. Whatever liquid it was that filled the vessel never remained in it for long.
As I kept praying, it felt like my hands were searching for something in a hole. They kept searching deeper and deeper until they found a treasure chest full of gold. Then I heard, ‘It is as you go deeper you begin to delight yourself in the Lord and He will give you the desires of your heart.’
I understood that those who remain on the surface don’t get to enjoy fully what was kept for them until they go deeper.
Thereafter, I had the impression of complacent individuals in the church. I heard them say things like: ‘We’re in the Holy Place. See the graces we’re walking in.’
They didn’t have the desire to move to the Holy of Holies.
Then I heard a voice ask, ‘Do you think you’ve arrived? Why settle for less when you can have more? You can have more.’
I prayed saying, ‘Lord, help us want more. Help us desire more. Let’s not settle for less when there’s more.’
As I prayed that, I heard one of our spontaneous songs, ‘We wanna know more…’
I then asked how we can stay hungry. I heard, ‘By desiring. You ask. Ask and it shall be given unto you. You have not because you ask not. Filled vessels can become hungry (if they ask). Those who hunger and thirst after righteousness shall be filled, and they will be filled.”
