“All of us, then, who are mature should take such a view of things. And if on some point you think differently, that too God will make clear to you.” (Philippians 3:15)
He didn’t say all of us should take a view of such things. If you think differently, he said ‘this is for those who are mature.’ He makes it clear: I am mature, and what I’m saying now is for those who should understand. But in case you think differently, he didn’t say, “Well, let’s keep analyzing.” He said, no, God will make it clear to you. That is, you’re mature enough to be hearing from God. Look at how confident he is.
Does a difference in thinking mean they are not brethren? No. God gives time to work it out. With time, He will make it clear. Look at the confidence he has. Why? He knows these people study the Bible and have a relationship with God. How many of you used to think one way and now think differently? That’s it. It’s simple.
Now, do you understand your immaturity if you hold strong opinions while still struggling with small issues? Be mature enough to show evidence that you walk with God. Listen to Him and obey. Don’t come from a life of active disobedience to argue over what you think is right. “A wise man is strong; a man of knowledge increases strength” (Proverbs 24:5). Knowledge and maturity come with time and obedience.
