Jesus lived with immense capacity but chose submission. He said, “My food is to do the will of my Father and to finish it.” So you must first find His will, then do it—and finally, finish it.
Most of you love the Lord. You’ve asked for His will. He has told you. But the second part—finishing—you’re not planning to finish. Starting is not finishing. Knowing is not finishing.
I once saw a race where a man was a few steps from the finish line. His girlfriend came out and kissed him. He turned to embrace her, and someone ran past and won. Another race—a man on a bicycle lifted his hands one step before the finish line. Someone passed him.
Same thing spiritually. Many don’t even get near the finish line because they don’t know where it is.
We must know the lines and the markers. Ask God, “What is Your will?” Then keep doing it until it is finished. Life has stages. Every stage has a job. If you don’t do it, the stage remains incomplete.
The timing and execution are crucial in finishing the Lord’s work. That’s why you need the Holy Spirit—first to know, then to know how, then to finish.
