You don’t get born again today and then by next week you are already trying to run a ministry, preach everywhere, fast dangerously, and announce spiritual exploits. Bad things will happen to you, not because God hates you, but because your fruit is not yet good. Fruit takes time.
When someone comes out of darkness and just gave their life to Christ, they are a young tree. Young trees do not bear acceptable fruit immediately. They stay there until time does its work.
What happens instead is that people take new converts and demonstrate them like props. They travel them around because they used to be popular, famous, or dramatic. They say, “Come and share your testimony.” They are using former star power that was demonically powered and calling it ministry.
Run from people like that. Run from the pastors who lead people like that. It is unwise. It takes time for fruit to be clean fruit.
If you are newly born again and you are wondering why you are not patient, not loving, not stable yet, don’t listen to voices telling you that you are not saved. You are a young tree. Young trees don’t bear fruit yet. Stay planted. Stay quiet. Stay growing. Hang around older trees. Learn. Read your Bible. Go to church. Stop trying to prove something spiritually. Growth is time plus obedience.
