Night seasons are not evil. They are markers. They are pauses between phases. God created the day and He created the night (Genesis 1:5). He is not angry with your night seasons.
In the night, you sustain what you already have. The bread you gathered in the day keeps you. There is rest. There is sleep. There is rejuvenation. That’s why people often feel useless in the night season.
But night seasons are not abandonment seasons. They are rest seasons. Yet they are dangerous if you misbehave. Many people backslide in the night. Don’t.
God creates in patterns. There was evening and there was morning. Light first. Then separation. Then growth. Then fruitfulness. Then dominion. He follows the same pattern in your life.
He is a master workman. The dealings of God have structure. If you understand the pattern, you won’t panic when the night comes.
The question was asked in Isaiah 21:11: “Watchman, what of the night? Watchman, what of the night?” How much night is left?
The watchman answered, “Morning is coming, but also the night” (Isaiah 21:12). That means there are many evenings and many mornings. God deals with individuals and with the world in segments.
Amos 5:18 says, “Woe to you who long for the day of the Lord… that day will be darkness, not light.” God even refers to nights as days because they are seasons.
So understand this: when it is day, work. Obey. Finish. Don’t store obedience for later. When it is night, rest. Don’t sin. Don’t fall away. Don’t say God has abandoned you.
Morning is coming. But also the night. If you will ask, ask. And come back again. Use your day well. Endure your night properly. Finish what He gives you.
