Many people think the problem is outside. But the Bible explains something deeper.
Romans 7 says: “The good I want to do, I do not do. The evil I do not want to do, I keep doing.” Then it explains why. It is sin living inside.
There is something within the human body that leans toward disobedience, that responds to temptation, that cooperates with the enemy. So even if there is no demon present, there is still a struggle.
Yawning when it is time to pray, that confusion when reading Scripture, that restlessness during devotion—that is not always external. Sometimes it is the nature within. And that nature does not get tired.
Years after salvation, it is still there. It does not respect how long you have been in the faith. It does not respect position, experience, or title. If you ignore it, it will keep influencing your actions.
Paul did not hide this. He said it clearly so that believers would understand what they are dealing with. There is an internal factor in this battle. And if you don’t understand that there is something within you that resists God, you will keep blaming everything outside while the real issue continues unchecked.
Understanding this changes how you fight. Because now you know that victory is not just about resisting external forces. It is also about dealing with what is inside.
