What God has put inside you now is a deposit. It is not the fullness yet.
The Bible says He anointed us. To anoint means to smear. Like rubbing oil on something. That is what has happened to you. God has smeared His Spirit on you as a promise of what is coming.
Right now, your body still runs on blood. “The life of the flesh is in the blood” (Leviticus 17:11). That is how you are alive today. But that will not always be the case.
There is a time coming when you will not run on blood again. After the resurrection, you will run on Spirit. That is the future God is working towards.
That is why when Jesus rose from the dead, He said, “A spirit does not have flesh and bones as you see I have” (Luke 24:39). He did not say flesh and blood. Because the resurrected body does not need blood.
Blood can be drained. Blood can fail. But what God is bringing you into cannot fail.
In that future, the Spirit will fill you completely. Just like in the valley of dry bones where the prophet spoke, and the bones came together, and the Spirit entered them, and they stood on their feet (Ezekiel 37:10).
That is the plan. God is moving everything toward that reality.
