Not every fantasy is about pride. Some people simply want to escape.
Life becomes difficult. Responsibilities become overwhelming. Instead of facing reality, they disappear into another world where there are no consequences, no pressure and no demands.
The problem is that your responsibilities remain behind. While your mind has escaped, your assignment has not.
Many believers sincerely want to serve God. They love Him. They want to help. But every time responsibility comes, they immediately tell themselves, “I know I’ll fail.”
The real issue is not inability. The real issue is escape.
They already know that the moment pressure comes, they will mentally withdraw instead of remaining present.
So they never volunteer. They never serve. They never carry responsibility, because of an escape world that has become stronger than their sense of responsibility.
“Let every man abide in the same calling wherein he was called.” (1 Corinthians 7:20)
Don’t keep running from every difficult assignment. Growth is not found in escape. It is found in staying.
Stay when correction comes. Stay when responsibility increases. Stay when obedience costs something.
Burn down every escape route that keeps you from fulfilling what God has given you to do.
