The Bible does not only tell us that God uses weapons. The Bible shows us that God forms them.
Some servants are arrows in His hand. Some are polished shafts hidden in His quiver. (Isaiah 49:2)
Some are battle axes. (Jeremiah 51:20)
Some are rods. (Exodus 4:17; Psalm 2:9)
Some are sharp threshing instruments. (Isaiah 41:15)
Some have mouths like sharp swords. (Isaiah 49:2)
But none of these instruments appear fully formed. God shapes them.
Isaiah said: “Before I was born, the Lord called me.” (Isaiah 49:1)
Notice that. Before birth. Before effort. Before achievement. Before reputation. God called him.
Many people think they can force God’s hand through activity.
They assume that if they pray enough hours, fast enough days, or engage in enough spiritual exercises, God must eventually use them in a particular way. It doesn’t always work like that.
God chooses people before they are born. God arranges things long before they become visible.
That is why people must be careful about taking credit for what God initiated.
Some of you are standing in blessings connected to prayers offered by people who came before you.
Some of you are being pulled by promises made generations ago.
God has been working long before you arrived. That does not mean you should become careless.
Do not presume upon God’s mercy. Do not assume you can ignore Him because He has plans.
Understand that He is forming people for His purposes. And often that work begins long before they know anything about it.
