Many Christians do not understand how powerful righteousness is. Righteousness gives boldness.
The Bible says the righteous are as bold as a lion, but the wicked flee though no one pursues them (Proverbs 28:1).
Notice that. Nobody is chasing them, yet they are running already.
Many believers cannot pray boldly because condemnation is eating them alive. They carry things in their hearts. Secret compromise. Disobedience. Hidden wickedness. It affects their confidence before God.
Hebrews says we should come boldly to the throne of grace to obtain mercy and find grace to help in time of need (Hebrews 4:16).
But many people cannot come boldly. They shrink back. They avoid prayer. They avoid God’s presence. Why? Their conscience condemns them.
The Bible says that if our heart condemns us, God is greater than our heart. But if our heart does not condemn us, then we have confidence toward God (1 John 3:20–21).
Righteousness changes that.
When someone has been consistently choosing what is right, something develops inside them. A standing. A confidence.
Such a person can stand before God and ask boldly. “Father, please help this person.” God says, “Why should I?” “Because I am asking.” That is boldness.
Some people cannot even ask because they themselves are hiding from God already.
Many battles in life have been won simply through boldness. Many have been lost through lack of boldness. And the fuel behind true spiritual boldness is righteousness.
When the devil accuses you, righteousness answers the accusation. The righteous person stands firm.
That is why righteousness is armour. It protects your confidence before God.
The Bible calls it the breastplate of righteousness (Ephesians 6:14). Armour protects vital areas. Righteousness protects your confidence before God and your ability to stand firm against accusation.
The Bible says that the effective, fervent prayer of a righteous man avails much (James 5:16).
Righteousness is not a minute detail. It is a weapon that empowers boldness.
