Your victories depend on what you see—and what you see comes from what you hear. The devil knows this, so he floods you with words. He replays old hurts, accusations, and failures. You sit down, recall those words, and suddenly depression returns. Why? You started to see again what you heard.
You must fight with your mouth. When memories of pain come, bless instead of curse. “Father, bless him. Bless her.” Say it until it breaks. You’re not lying—it’s a prayer. Jesus said, “Bless those who treat you badly.” That’s warfare. When you curse, they win. When you bless, you win.
I’ve done it. I’d be displeased with my wife, and I’d force myself to thank God for her. “Thank You, Lord, for her kindness, her faith.” Even when it felt fake, I kept saying it. Because it’s a battle. It’s the sword of the Spirit. You fight with words. You obey the Word by speaking it, even when it burns. And after a while, your mouth works freely. The peace comes. The power comes. You win. That’s how we fight.
