Many believers have different testimonies about what God removed from their lives when they came to Him. For some, lust disappeared instantly. For others, the desire for alcohol or pornography ended as though it had never existed. But everyone has some area where an enemy remains. God leaves those areas to teach warfare.
It is easy to listen to preachers who offer different explanations. Some will tell you, “You don’t believe the word.” Another will say, “You need to declare the word.” Someone else will say, “You need to stand on the promises” or, “You need to saturate yourself with the word.” Each person will offer a method, and you may say, “But I am already doing these things.” Yet, the problem remains.
The answer is not hidden. It is in Judges 3. God has left some enemies—not to crush you, but to train you. These remaining struggles are not evidence of failure; they are an opportunity for growth. They are meant to keep you alert, prayerful, and dependent on Him.
