The cracks in our lives—anger, greed, impurity, pride—are where the devil waits to apply pressure. He does not rush. He waits for the right time, then presses until everything breaks. This happens in marriages, in ministries, and in leadership. What is left undealt with will rise again.
Love of money has destroyed many preachers. They began with power, preaching faithfully, but because greed was never killed, it resurfaced. Some became so consumed by it that they resorted to witchcraft, using charms to hold members, just to feed their greed. They did not seal the crack, and the enemy exploited it.
The same is true of other desires. If anger is not put to death, it will erupt in destructive ways. If impurity is excused, it will return to enslave. If pride is tolerated, it will eventually take over. This is why Scripture commands us to put sin to death. If it is not killed, it will rise to destroy.
