Satan’s deception always has one goal—to lead people off the path that leads to life. Deception is misdirection. He stands at the junctions of your decisions and points you the wrong way. He won’t tell you, “This way leads to death.” He’ll say, “This is the better way, the easier way, the way everyone else is going.”
Jesus said, “Broad is the way that leads to destruction, and many enter through it. Narrow is the way that leads to life, and few find it.” Few find it because Satan is at the entrance of the narrow way, blocking and confusing it. He uses all kinds of voices—even those of preachers, writers, and philosophers—to make people feel comfortable in sin.
So you’ll hear things like, “Guilt is not from God,” or “All sins are the same, so don’t feel bad.” It sounds spiritual, but it’s a trap. Those are lies meant to keep you walking the broad road that leads to destruction. That’s how he deceives the world—by making the wrong path look harmless.
