The Judgement Seat of Christ

The Apostle Paul said something many Christians do not like to read carefully.

“We must all appear before the judgment seat of Christ, so that each of us may receive what is due to us for the things done while in the body, whether good or bad” (2 Corinthians 5:10).

People immediately become uncomfortable because they have been taught a version of grace that removed responsibility completely. But Paul was writing to believers and still speaking about accountability.

The blood of Jesus has never lost its power. Never.

But the same scriptures warn repeatedly about disobedience, immorality, greed, uncleanness, lying, covetousness, unforgiveness, and rebellion. Colossians says the wrath of God comes upon the sons of disobedience because of these things (Colossians 3:5-6).

So what should a Christian do? Walk in the good works God created you for.

Colossians 3:12-14 tells you plainly: Clothe yourselves with compassion. Kindness. Humility. Gentleness. Patience. Bear with one another. Forgive one another. Then above all these things, put on love.

This is Christianity in practice. Not just shouting “grace” while living carelessly. Not just claiming faith while ignoring obedience. Not just attending church while remaining harsh, greedy, immoral, dishonest, unforgiving, and proud.

Love is practical.

Yes, it can be difficult. Sometimes forgiveness is difficult. Patience is difficult. Purity is difficult. But the more you love God, the easier obedience becomes.
