God supplies daily bread.
So why would you think the people who lived hundreds of years ago were supposed to receive everything God would ever reveal, while the people who are alive at the end of the age are left with nothing?
People sometimes say nobody can know more than Martin Luther, John Wesley or Spurgeon and so on. But those men died hundreds of years ago.
Are you saying the Holy Spirit is so unfaithful that He gave them information they did not need for their generation and then refused to give information to the generation that actually needs it?
The last-day generation—the people who will be alive when Jesus comes—need to know certain things. They need clarity. They need information relevant to the time in which they are living.
That does not mean the people who came before us were not faithful. It does not mean they did not study. There are people who have read the Bible far more than many of us have.
Callings affect ability. Giftings affect ability. It is a real thing. And that is why nobody should boast.
Paul said that a mystery was revealed to him. It was not revealed to Peter. It was not revealed to John. God revealed it to Paul.
So when something remains a mystery to you, what should you do? Ask God for clarity. Then keep quiet and wait.
There have been questions I asked God that He answered seventeen years later. That does not mean God was unfaithful during those seventeen years. It means the answer had not yet been opened to me.
A mystery is a mystery because it is still a secret to you.
So approach God with the understanding that you may need things for your generation that previous generations did not need in the same way.
My attitude is simple: “God, we are about to enter a new season. Please drop some bread for us. We need strength for the journey.”
That is not about trying to know things just to feel special. It is about recognizing the generation you are living in.
If you are alive in the last days, you need to know last-day things. You need to ask God for clarity.
