The Bible makes it very plain. It says in 1 John 3:9, no one who is born of God will continue to sin. Why? Because God’s seed remains in them. There is something inside them that resists that lifestyle.
Then it goes further in verse 10: this is how we know who the children of God are and who the children of the devil are. It didn’t say it is mysterious. It didn’t say it is complicated. It says anyone who does not do what is right is not God’s child.
Verse 8 says, the one who does what is sinful is of the devil, because the devil has been sinning from the beginning. And it explains why the Son of God appeared—to destroy the works of the devil.
So what are you supposed to do with sin? Destroy it. Not manage it. Not excuse it. Not normalize it. Not joke about it. Not build a lifestyle around it.
Sin is not something you decorate. It is something you destroy.
The problem is many people don’t agree with God about sin. And that is why they remain in it. The scripture says if we acknowledge our sins, He is faithful and just to forgive us and cleanse us.
The devil does not like agreement. He wants you to explain it, defend it, justify it. But the moment you agree with God—“this is wrong”—forgiveness is available to you.
There are people who were once controlled by serious sins—things that held them for years—and today they are free. So this is not theory.
If you are still practicing sin, the scripture is not confused about your state. But at the same time, God is not confused about His power. He can free you.
But you must agree with Him first.
