Jesus said that when the Spirit of Truth comes, He will guide you into all truth [John 16:13].
The Spirit of Truth tells you what to adapt to per time. There is truth about the past. There is truth about the present. There is truth about the future.
Much of that truth is contained in the Bible. These sixty-six books tell us about things that have happened, things that are happening, and things that are yet to happen.
But the truth is not merely information about what God has said in the past. The truth is what God is saying and doing now.
The Spirit of Truth reveals that truth to us. That is why you cannot simply take a Scripture and apply it however you want without being guided by the Spirit.
The Bible may say that a wise man foresees trouble and avoids it [Proverbs 22:3]. But there may be a situation where God is teaching you patience through the very thing you would normally avoid.
The same Scripture that tells you to avoid trouble does not contradict the Scripture that says there is no temptation that has overtaken you except what is common to man, and that God provides a way out so that you may endure it [1 Corinthians 10:13].
You need to know what God is saying per time. That is why you need the Spirit of Truth working actively in your life.
