When God’s Servants Fall

Is the story of Gideon real? Did God use him to win miraculous battles? Did he sin after that? Yes. Did David win battle after battle for God? You’d call those crusades today. Did he sin later? Yes. But does that mean those victories were false? No. Everyone saw him kill Goliath.

Never believe that because a man of God later sinned, everything he did before was a lie—especially when others witnessed those things. Yes, there are people who lied, who wrote false stories and later removed them. But when you find out someone fell into sin, don’t assume all God did through him was fake.

Why should we delete their old sermons or testimonies? Did God delete David’s victories? Has He erased Gideon’s name? God doesn’t throw away the good stories just because there are bad ones later. Don’t be ashamed to tell what God has done through someone, even if they later failed. If it was real, still give God glory.

The devil attacks God’s servants to discredit their stories, so people will stop giving God glory for what He did through them. That’s why God told David, “You have given My enemies occasion to blaspheme Me” (2 Samuel 12:14).
