The Bible says that those who had been given authority to judge came to life and reigned with Christ for a thousand years [Revelation 20:4]. But look at the people being described.
They had been killed because of their testimony about Jesus and because of the word of God. They had not worshipped the beast or its image, and they had not received its mark.
These are not people who casually followed Jesus. These are people who paid a price. They refused to compromise. They endured. They held on to the testimony of Jesus and the word of God even when it cost them everything. And that should make you rethink what it means to follow Christ.
You may not physically lose your head. But you need to lose your head in another sense. You need to lose your own way of thinking. You need to drop your own thinking and take up the mind of Christ.
You may be told, “You’ve lost your mind.” Maybe you are finally beginning to lose the mind that needed to go. Not because you are foolish. But because you have allowed the word of God to change the way you think.
You read what Jesus said. You believed it. Then you practiced it. And people looked at you and said, “Who does that?”
Don’t believe the idea that once you are born again, everything is automatically settled.
There is discipleship. There is endurance. There is obedience. There is persecution.
And God allows His people to face difficulties because there are things that can only be demonstrated when there is a price to pay.
The people who reign with Christ are people who endured.
So ask yourself: What are you doing with your life now? Because your life now is the campaign.
You cannot wait until then to beg Jesus for authority. The preparation is happening now.
The way you obey now matters. The way you handle God’s word now matters. The way you endure now matters. The way you surrender your own thinking now matters.
If you want to reign with Christ then, learn to live under His rule now.
