Sometime in 2019, during one of the holidays I spent at home, I went to see my nephews. The older one was 4 years old and the younger one was almost 2 years old. Now, they are 6 and 3 respectively. I went there intending to preach to the housemaid, which was something I normally did. But then, I had an impression to pray for the children to be baptised in the Holy Spirit specifically. I wanted to shrug it off because I thought they were too young to be filled with the Spirit, but I was rebuked by the Holy Spirit for thinking that way. So, I decided to go ahead and do what I was led to.
I went to their house after my usual street evangelism and talked to them about Jesus – how He loves them and wants to talk with them more. The younger one wasn’t listening to me but the other one seemed very interested.
After talking with them for a while, I said I was going to pray for the baptism of the Holy Spirit and for God to start talking with them and he agreed. I began to pray in the Spirit and laid my hands on them for a while. When I was done, I asked if they saw anything. The younger one looked dazed and was just smiling with his eyes fixed in a particular direction; it was as if he was seeing something at that moment, so I let him be. The older one began to tell me that he had seen the prophet Daniel in the Lion’s den, and how safe he had been.
Although they didn’t speak in other tongues, I believe they received a measure of the Holy Spirit at that point as seen in their experiences. Now, I’m still praying for them and they pray on their own, too. I keep sharing the Word with them whenever I have the chance.
