The Holy Spirit assists you by opening doors, but He can also assist you by blocking doors.
Sometimes, you enter a place, and a door closes. Sometimes you try to rent a particular house and the arrangement suddenly falls apart. You may become angry with the landlord or the person involved, when what actually happened may have been God blocking you from entering that place.
God does not only give you things. He guides you into truth by opening some doors and closing others.
That is part of the work of the Holy Spirit.
The Spirit of Truth teaches you, tells you what to do, corrects you, rebukes you, assists you, and sometimes blocks you.
Think about how someone would protect a little child from falling down a staircase. They may block one route so the child cannot go there. The block is not punishment. It is assistance.
In the same way, God may stop you from going somewhere because He knows what you do not know.
The problem is that we often become angry when God blocks what we want.
We do not always recognise that a closed door can be divine assistance.
You must learn to listen to the Spirit of Truth.
The question is not only, “What do I want?” The question is, “What is God saying per time?”
