The devil looks for openings. A mosquito looks for openings. A thief looks for openings. Water looks for cracks. Fire looks for fuel. Disease looks for weaknesses.
The principle is everywhere.
What gains access usually does so through an opening.
That is why Scripture says, “Do not give the devil a foothold.” (Ephesians 4:27)
Not because he is stronger than God’s people, but because access matters.
Many believers spend their time asking God to remove the consequences while refusing to close the opening.
God wants us to cooperate with Him. He wants us to examine our hearts, honestly.
Where are the gaps? Where are the compromises? Where are the divided motives? Where have we left doors unlocked?
These are not questions for somebody else. They are questions each believer must ask personally.
The good news is that God is willing to help. The Lord uncovers what is hidden. He reveals what we cannot see ourselves. He shows us where the problem is.
But once He shows us, we must respond.
Close the door. Lock the gate. Remove the opening. Purify the heart.
Become single-minded toward God. Because many battles would never become battles if the access point had been shut from the beginning.
