A believer is a civilian in the kingdom of God. A disciple is a soldier in training.
A servant is a soldier who can be sent out on missions. There are levels of soldiers and levels of servants.
When certain wars come, as they will, you will have one regret: that you chose to remain a civilian.
The devil knows that when God’s people choose to remain civilians, there will be a greater death rate. Every voice that tells you, “Stay civilian because the military life is hard,” is increasing your chances of dying in battle.
More civilians die in every war. They are raped, destroyed, and abused more than soldiers because soldiers have the ability to fight back.
One enemy soldier with a gun can control 2,000 civilians. But one trained soldier in that crowd can take on one, two, or five soldiers by reason of his training.
That is why you need to talk to God about what you want to be now.
If you have been a civilian, ask the Lord to forgive you for remaining one when He has been calling you to train as a soldier. Ask Him to help you train, learn how to wear your armour, and learn how to fight the works of the enemy.
If you are a soldier who has been a coward or a bad soldier, ask God to forgive you.
Tell Him:
“From today, I want to fight according to Your will. I want to take the path that only You take and fight in the way that only You can fight. I want to press through into dimensions that only You have the ability to press through.
“I want to be able to endure hardship. I want to be strong with my brothers, my fellow fighters. I want to be a fighting being. I want to be capable.
“Forgive me for cowardice and a love of comfort above the will of God. Help me, Lord.”
This is our prayer.
