Scripture gives hard examples. In 1 Kings 20, a prophet tells another prophet, “Strike me.” The man refuses. God says, “Because you did not obey, a lion will kill you.” And it happened.
Psalm 141:5 says, “Let a righteous man strike me; it is kindness.” Rebuke can be love. Correction can be love. Obedience is love.
God can tell you to do something uncomfortable for the good of one of His children. Your proof of love is not sparing feelings; it is obeying God.
Nebuchadnezzar was warned. Daniel told him the truth. That warning gave him time to repent. If Daniel had softened it or hidden it, Nebuchadnezzar would have lost that chance.
Love does not come from feelings. Love comes from obedience. God defines love. You cannot override His definition.
“God is love” does not mean “God approves of everything.” God is love means He defines love. Disobedience is not love, no matter how gentle it feels.
