I saw a cloud of darkness. It appeared to be spreading over the medical hostel where I reside. Deep within me, I understood that this was not limited to the hostel; I felt that it also applied to the Church, especially because of the time when I was praying.
As the vision continued, I had the impression that this darkness was a swarm of flies. I had the impression of an attack of voices. It seemed that permission had been given to demons so that we could have a taste of what will come in the future, when we would have to deal with the presence of many more demons on the earth.
Then I remembered a prophetic word from recently that said people should go and present themselves to a higher spiritual authority. It seemed that, in the future, we would have to contend with voices on behalf of other people, so we need to be free of such voices ourselves.
I heard a voice saying something to the effect of:
“Where are those who have sworn to serve Me? Where are those who vowed to do My will? Where are those who have come out from Babylon?”
A Bible verse came to mind: Revelation 18:4 —
“Then I heard another voice from heaven saying: ‘Come out of her, My people, so that you do not participate in her sins and suffer from any of her plagues.’”
I saw us come and present ourselves before the Throne of God. Many of us stood there clothed in gold garments. The gold seemed to signify divinity. I saw the Lord laying His hands on us, commissioning us and sending us out.
The impression I got was that these voices and lies are not going to be on a small scale. It seemed that people would begin to hear and be forced to believe lies and, as a result, many would fall into depression, fear, and anxiety.
I had the impression of an intense battle for souls, and that the Lord was seeking people who would go and be like shepherds to other people.
I saw that we were being sent to anoint people’s ears. As we anointed their ears, we were preventing these flies from settling on them.
As I continued praying, I saw a cloud of white smoke. This cloud was moving against the cloud of darkness—the swarm of flies—pushing it back. I received the understanding that this white cloud represented incense.
I had the impression that when people give thanks to God for the shepherds over them, or for the people God sent to help them when they were battling with lies, those prayers of thanksgiving rise as white incense. This incense then becomes a force that pushes back the darkness.
As I continued praying, I had the impression to play our spontaneous song, “Teach Your People War.” As the song played, it aligned almost exactly, word for word, with the prayers I was saying. Sometimes, as I began to say something in prayer, Pastor would also say it in the song.
There was also a strong warning to the effect of:
“Woe to the shepherd who is still struggling with voices. Woe to the shepherd who has not learnt how to fight voices.”
This brought further clarity as to why we were instructed to present ourselves.
I had the impression that God is calling us to reach out and report our struggles with voices to our shepherds, especially those of us who know that this is a major area of warfare for us.
I had the impression that if we have presented ourselves to be potential bondservants of the Lord, then He will indeed look upon us and send us out.
I had the impression that we would encounter people carrying bitterness, wounds, and unresolved issues. These conditions make them more vulnerable to lies and deceptive voices.
Our assignment will be to confront and expose these lies and help such individuals come into truth and freedom.
But before going out, we must first overcome these voices ourselves. We must learn to discern truth from lies. We must learn how to “anoint our ears.” We must be prepared for the battle before being sent into it.
