There are two kinds of wisdom.
There is wisdom from above which is pure, peaceable, gentle, easily entreated, full of mercy and good fruit, without partiality and without hypocrisy.
There is also wisdom from the earth which is earthly, sensual and devilish. [James 3]
Both of them are called wisdom. But many people in the church are pursuing the demonic wisdom.
It doesn’t become demonic at the beginning. At the beginning, it’s just earthly wisdom.
How do you know it’s earthly?
Unbelievers like it. They adopt it. Unbelievers study it, read the book and try to practise it.
If you see anything that a preacher preaches steadily and unbelievers come, sit down and enjoy it and say, “Ah, I like this man,” be careful.
I’m giving you the quickest way to know you’re listening to earthly wisdom.
If the people of the earth consume it peacefully, it’s likely earthly wisdom.
If it’s heavenly wisdom, it will teach you to be pure. That kind of wisdom doesn’t always make sense to the world. It can make you look like a fool sometimes.
Earthly wisdom will present itself to you. It always does.
You are constantly faced with these two wisdoms. You make a choice.
How do you prove it? In what you do.
Is it easy? No, it’s not easy. It’s hard to obey godly wisdom. If it was easy, everybody would do it.
