I had a friend who was the “papa” [Christian leader] of my class. I always felt he had issues with pride.
I vividly remember that the event I’m about to describe took place on a Friday, shortly before the Nigerian universities were closed down for the coronavirus break and students were sent home. One of my brothers and I went to eat at a canteen. While I was there, the ‘papa’ walked into the canteen to eat too. I was so engrossed in the conversation I was having with one of my brothers that I ignored my heart which was yearning to talk to him about God. Well he was an arrogant person though, but that wasn’t an excuse whatsoever!
About a week later, to be precise, on the 24th of March, I heard that he slumped in a bathroom and shouted ‘Jesus’. He died afterwards.
